Characteristics and advantages of Foil Form Technology
No varnishing.
The varnish has been replaced with a coloured film, which is inserted into the production tool. During the polymerization phase, the foil and PU are combined into a single-piece finished product. We manufacture a large range of products with various finishes by using foils of different colours, textures and surface effects (e.g. soft to the touch, coarse texture etc.).
Environmental technology.
The omission of varnishing means that no thinners or lacquers are used and that no toxic fumes or dust particles from polishing are produced etc.
Product industrialization optimization.
Compared to other technologies, FF enables the integration of several components during the planning process, which are already inserted into the product during the injection moulding phase. This way, each additional product assembly phase is simplified and expedited.
Absorption and deformation.
The absorption, in comparison to thermoplastics, is minimal, which enables additional design options and enhances product functionality. The thickness of material of a single-piece product varies from 3mm to 25mm, without influencing the deformation and shrinkage rate of the product.
Negative angles and indentation.
The injection moulding method also allows for the moulding of negative angles and indentations. Edge finishes provide for aesthetically manufactured products. Due to the processing indentations using foil (e.g. the handles), there is a variety of design options and functionalities available.
